RESTORE SERIES

RESTORE: A 3 WEEK SERIES
NOVEMBER 6TH - 20TH, 2019
WEDNESDAYS @ 7:30PM - 9:00PM
WITH SONA

This three-week series will explore the experience of Restorative Yoga, a deeply restful practice that emphasizes nurturing holds in simple, supported postures. This is a practice that invites us to move into a state of being, which is the heart of yoga and meditation. In being there is a deeper knowing, but to access this we must be willing to let go of our agenda. Instead of placing our attention on stretching or sensation, we focus on cultivating space, remaining open and still. For some, this may be the most advanced practice of all.

In this series, Sona will lead you through restorative sequences, each designed for a specific energetic result. We will practice all categories of asanas— backbends, forward bends, side bends, twists and inversions—in a completely receptive manner through the support of bolsters, blankets, straps, blocks and eye pillows. The props offer a sense of being held, which helps to facilitate a slow and quiet opening through the body, subtle body and mind, bringing healing to deeply patterned tensions. Postures are held from 5-20 minutes, designed to maximize comfort and allow practitioners to fully let go.

Restorative yoga is the perfect antidote for a busy life. It is a highly beneficial practice for anyone seeking to slow down, unwind and reset; for those seeking to balance more active practices; or, for those experiencing injury, loss, trauma, anxiety, or illness. Research has shown that the practice of restoration soothes the nervous system, restores our energy and focus and fundamentally builds resiliency at all levels.

Join Sona for 3 weeks dedicated to nourishing your being. All levels and abilities welcome! Only 15 spots available!

PRANAYAMA + MEDITATION WORKSHOP
NOVEMBER 16th @ 11:30PM-1:30PM
with Jamie Otto

Through the practice of pranayama and meditation, we begin the journey toward exploring the subtle thread that binds science and spirit. “Prana” meaning vital life force energy and “Yama” meaning to expand and to restrain, the word pranayama translates to the ability to regulate our energy by controlling the breath. With conscious breath, we experience the biological shifts that allow our nervous system to relax and our mind to settle. It’s with this awareness of breath we are able to practice mindfulness and meditation.

WHAT TO EXPECT
In this workshop, expect to breathe, move gently, and cultivate a one-pointed focus as we settle into meditation.

YIN + REIKI WORKSHOP

YIN + REIKI WORKSHOP
WITH JAMIE & SHAWNDA
SATURDAY, DEC 14TH @ 4 - 6PM

Slowly unravel and surrender to the nourishment of your breath, gentle hands on touch, and the quiet power that is Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga Teacher Jamie Otto will guide you through a delicious two-hour yin practice, where Reiki Master Shawnda Noone will incorporate gentle hands on touch to facilitate energy restoration.

Reiki is a technique that promotes the flow of life force energy in the whole body including body, mind, and spirit. By lingering in yin poses, we begin to stimulate and target the deeper connective tissues in the body and tend our parasympathetic nervous system. This therapeutic practice coupled with Reiki will release tension, clear space, and allow for the natural healing processes of the body.

This workshop will give you the space to explore the levels of depth that are connected to the inner workings of the self. Taking you out of your mind, we hope to bring you back into your hearts and offer the nurturance to replenish your mind, body and spirit.

Please note, there are limited spaces available for this workshop.
