INTRO TO ACROYOGA + THAI MASSAGE WORKSHOP

WHAT TO EXPECT
Learn to fly— learn to launch and sustain a partner in the air— learn AcroYoga! You’ll learn the simple tricks that make flight possible:
- “Bone Stacking”— using bone strength to carry weight
- Non-verbal / tactile communication
- Safe spotting skills
From this foundation, we'll take off on a two-phase journey. You'll explore:
1. Therapeutics- in which the “flyer” is relaxed; you’ll learn spinal tractioning, building to tractioned backbends and twists
2. Acrobatics- in which the “flyer” is active; building to supported inversions
We guarantee you'll be sore from the work and play (especially in your face, from smiling)-- so we'll weave in healing Thai Massage practices. You'll leave feeling amazing, and amazed by what you've just done!
This class is open to anyone who can complete an intermediate yoga class—with the right techniques, it’s easier than it looks.
WHAT TO BRING
Please come with an open mind, a playful attitude, and your curiosities! Bring what you need to feel comfortable in your practice, yoga mat, and water bottle.
*all yoga props will be provided.
MEET THE TEACHER
Tim Seiwerath has been a Certified AcroYoga Instructor for 11 years and has taught around the world, from Tokyo to Tacoma. He is also the founder of three hospital-based yoga programs for people with Parkinson's Disease. He loves to make yoga-- and AcroYoga-- accessible to everyone.
Appropriate partners will be arranged in class-- though you're welcome to come in pairs or groups, it's not necessary.
We can usually practice safely with-- and even heal-- injuries or other limitations in AcroYoga. If you have any concerns, please come to class early to consult with Tim. We will work out modifications that can make this practice safe and accessible for anyone with a basic yoga practice.

Have you always been curious about starting a yoga practice, or getting back into your practice, but you haven't taken the leap yet? Whether your goal is to gain more flexibility, more strength, or more peace of mind through a mindful movement practice, tacOMa yoga has got you covered.
Starting September 11th we will be starting our 6 week Intro to Yoga Series at tacOMa yoga!
Join Rachel as she takes you through this series and guest teacher Shawnda on Wednesday evenings at 7:30-8:30 pm.
Our aim is to create a safe and inviting space for you to learn and grow so that when you complete the 6 week course, you'll have the tools and knowledge you need to step confidently onto your yoga mat.
We promise lots of laughs!
As well as:
•Learning alignment for common yoga poses
•Keeping yourself safe with modifications.
•The importance of the breath and how to link it with movement.
•What is meditation, the benefits, and an overview of a few practices.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Join Leslie Whitecrow for this Six-Week Yoga Series designed for those who identify as female, between the ages of 12-15 that occurs on Mondays at 3:30pm, starting September 16, 2019.
In this series, you will learn:
•breathing techniques to help with stress
•movements to help build strength and flexibility
all done in a fun, supportive, and safe community where you can also meet new people!
